We have donation cans throughout the area in businesses who have generously given us counter space. For your convenience, you can make donations in the following places:

>

Goochie's Cafe
Plainville Liquor
Wrentham: Big Apple, Seasonal
Cooks Farm, Seasonal

You can bring your cans and bottles to the Horace Mann Educational Associates (HMEA) Redemption Center, 1 George St, Plainville, and ask for the money to be put in our account. They're open Monday through Saturday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, accept beer and soda cans and bottles, and they have NO limit on cans and plastic bottles. Please make sure you specify 4-Paws Animal Shelter.
Please consider ordering your pet's meds from Pet Rescue RX. They donate 100% of their net profits to animal shelters and rescue groups; tell them you'd like the proceeds to be donated to 4 Paws. The animals thank you!

EVENTS

Plainville Town Meeting, June 4, 2018

Plainville will hold its next Town Meeting June 4th, 2018 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Beatrice H. Wood Elementary School Auditorium, 72 Messenger Street, Plainville.

The Warrant describing the issues to be addressed during this meeting may be read/downloaded by clicking HERE.

4-Paws supports Article 3 of the Warrant which addressses the possibility of adding a new section to Plainville Town Code to be titled Sale of Animals, to regulate the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in the Town. Its purpose is to protect the residents of the Town and others from adverse effects that may arise from the sale and distribution of dogs, cats and rabbits that have not been bred or kept in sanitary and humane conditions and which pose a high risk of developing health and behavioral issues that are not discoverable at the time of sale and distribution. The purpose of this bylaw is also to prevent and/or reduce inhumane or inadequate breeding conditions, promote community awareness of animal welfare and foster a more humane animal environment by restricting the sale and distribution of dogs, cats and rabbits from pet shops, which are known to frequently obtain their animals from large-scale breeders, commonly referred to as puppy, kitten and rabbit mills.

We hope to see you at the meeting.

Boston Globe Grant to Support 4-Paws

Are you a Boston Globe Subscriber? The Boston Globe has announced the return of GRANT (Globe Readers And Non-profits Together), a community initiative that allows subscribers like you to help deserving non-profits (like 4-Paws) earn free advertising space in The Globe. The amounts vary based upon your subscription type. For example, Digital subscribers have $25 in a GRANT voucher to allocate to 4-Paws; seven-day paper subscribers have $90 in a GRANT voucher.

Submitting your GRANT voucher is easy — just click HERE and enter your Globe Subscriber Number and 4 PAWS ANIMAL SHELTER, INC. (number 187 in the Globe list of non-profits). We can later redeem the GRANT vouchers we haves accumulated for free advertising space in the Globe. The more GRANT vouchers earned, the larger the advertising space provided. Submission deadline is July 31, 2018.

Thousands of Globe subscribers participated in GRANT last year, and over 3,000 organizations were recognized. Altogether, more than $3 million in advertising space was donated at no cost to our subscribers or to the groups selected.

For more information and to stay up-to-date on subscriber contributions, go to BostonGlobe.com/GRANT.

Successful Bake Sale Conducted March 3rd

Our bake sale conducted on Saturday, March 3rd from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in conjunction with Wrentham's Fiske Library Annual Book Sale was a HUGE success. Thanks to all who participated and supported the event.

PAW Your Friends and Neighbors

We have a new fundraiser that is kind of fun. The photo on the left shows a sign we can place in someone's front yard for 2-to-3 days. For a donation, the person who has been Pawed can designate where they want the sign to go next. Of course, no donation is required and the sign moves on shortly.

Click on the images below to download a form for donations and a letter that will accompany the sign to explain what it is all about.

If you have any questions, contact Eileen at (774) 291-9379 or by email.
